Having highly skilled teaching structure and technical base with the newest equipment, the Department of Radio, TV and Cinema is leading department in preparation of professional experts in sphere of Radio, TV and Cinema among universities of Kyrgyzstan.
The department prepares professional TV and Radio journalists, directors, scriptwriters, operators, announcers and producers. This work is conducted in close relation with editors, university’s radio station " Manas-FM " and the first state TV Channel.
The majority of the teaching staff has a wide experience of practical journalism and film production. The teachers of the department are eminent art workers of high qualification in Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. A number of disciplines of the department are taught by leading journalists from radio stations and TV channels in Kyrgyzstan.
Teachers organize the master-classes and producer trainings with participation of well-known producers, scriptwriters, operators of Kyrgyzstan and other countries.
The graduates of the department, who has learnt bases of a specialty, modern knowledge and skills, work successfully in sphere of a mass communication both in Kyrgyzstan, and in Turkey.

Sphere of activity: radio, TV, and cinema. The opportunity of employment in these spheres as the manager of the program, the reporter, the operator, the announcer, the photographer, the editor, a scriptwriter, the director, the producer is open to graduates.
Conditions and the Environment of Education
The university has its own radio studio, the complete set of the movie equipment, special computer laboratory where students can practically get knowledge and skills of their profession.
With the purpose of more effective organization of an industrial practice of students, the faculty has concluded contracts about cooperation with republican and leading broadcasting companies of Turkey. Thus, students can get internships in sector of radio, TV and cinema both in Kyrgyzstan, and in leading broadcasting companies of Turkey.
Scientific research activity
Teachers and students conduct scientific research work in the field of TV and radio broadcasting and film production of Kyrgyzstan, to promote the development of electronic mass media and cinema, and also to define the most popular TV and radio programs.
Achievements of students
Each year students produce films and plots of different genres, take part in prestigious competitions of the international level and win awards.
Students take part in competitions and film festivals of the international level like the International Competition of Young Journalists of Aydin Dogan Foundation (Istanbul-Turkey), the International Film Festival of Documentary Films " 1001 nights " (Istanbul-Turkey), the International Film Festival of short films " The Gold Orange " (Istanbul-Turkey), the International Film Festival of Documentary Films " The Gold Saffron " (Shafranbolu-Turkey), the International Competition of Short Films "Oberhausen-2006" (Germany).
Students also actively participate in national competitions and film festivals. Films of our graduates Nargiza Mamatkulova and Akjol Bekbolotov have been selected for demonstration in Cannes at the International Film Festival of Art House Cinema "Kinostan" which took place in August 2007 on Issyk-Kul where the representatives of big European and Asian film festivals, distributors, cinematologists and critics from the Europe, America have come together.
Documentary and short films of our students have been adequately evaluated and awarded five diplomas in various nominations at the First Issyk-Kul Film Festival which took place from September 3 till September 9th, 2007 under the initiative of the government of Kyrgyzstan and where the best films from China, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Iran were demostrated.
The prize "Hope" has been awarded to Nargiza Mamatkulova for her film "Тоptash" and to Akjol Bekbolotov for his film "Kamsanaba". The prize for the best direction has received Stambulbek Mambetaliev for film "Among Clouds". Lyudmila Grebenshchikova and Anara Birismanova’s film "Аsil" has received the diploma in a nomination "Film-debut". |
